Dr Tamara Maclean
Regional Health Link was established to address a persistent and well-recognised gap in Australian healthcare: access to appropriate care should not be determined by geography, yet regional and remote patients continue to face increased risk during transfer and delayed access to specialist services.
For many patients, the journey itself represents a critical point of vulnerability. When clinical oversight is reduced or fragmented during movement between locations, continuity of care can be lost at precisely the moment it is needed most.
Regional Health Link exists to ensure that transport functions as an extension of care, not a break in it.
Our purpose is to connect all Australians to the healthcare they deserve by preserving clinical standards across distance.
This purpose underpins every decision we make — from how patients are assessed prior to transfer, to how care is delivered and handed over at the destination.
We regard patient transport as a clinical activity, not a logistical task.
Our approach is guided by the understanding that patient condition, risk of deterioration, and escalation potential must determine how transport is planned and delivered. Decisions are made with clinical judgement, situational awareness, and clear accountability — rather than convenience or speed alone.
From first contact through to formal handover, our focus remains on safeguarding patient outcomes and maintaining continuity of care within defined clinical boundaries.
Clinical governance underpins every aspect of Regional Health Link’s operations.
Our services are delivered within structured frameworks that support consistent clinical decision-making, appropriate escalation, and clear scope-of-practice boundaries.
These frameworks are designed to ensure care is delivered safely, defensibly, and in alignment with contemporary clinical standards.
This governance provides confidence to patients, referrers, and healthcare services that care remains accountable throughout the entire transfer process.
We recognise the trust placed in us by patients, families, and healthcare providers.
For patients and families, we aim to provide reassurance, professionalism, and dignity during what is often an uncertain part of the care journey.
For referrers and receiving services, we are committed to clear communication, continuity of care, and responsible clinical handover.
At every stage, our focus remains on supporting safe outcomes and maintaining confidence in the care provided.
Regional Health Link was founded by clinicians with extensive experience in emergency, critical care, and remote health practice.

is a registered Paramedic with experience across emergency response, patient transport, and complex clinical decision-making in uncontrolled environments.

is a Remote Area Nurse with over eight years’ experience in delivering emergency care, first response in isolated area's and clinic management.
Together, the founders bring a shared understanding of the clinical, logistical, and governance challenges associated with delivering safe care across distance. This experience has directly informed the structure, standards, and clinical discipline that underpin Regional Health Link.
